Moore Stephens Queensland merges with Gold Coast office

Moore Stephens Queensland today announced the merger of the formerly independently run Moore Stephens Gold Coast office, effective Monday 20th January 2014.

The Moore Stephens Gold Coast office has been one of the most progressive Chartered Accounting and Business Advisory firms on the coast. Two years ago, they broadened their accounting and advisory service offering to include a legal practice specialising in tax dispute resolution, commercial and commercial litigation matters.

This merger is the second for Moore Stephens Queensland in six months. In June 2013 it completed a merger with well-known accounting firm Land McKaig, established and run throughout the Townsville and Burdekin region for over 20 years by Chris Land.

Moore Stephens Queensland now represents a formidable mid-tier accounting and advisory presence, with a total of 19 principals and more than 200 staff across seven offices in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Burdekin, Cairns, Innisfail, Townsville and Toowoomba.

“A commitment to providing astute business advice through high-level technical expertise and a client focus is central to the Moore Stephens culture,” explains Alan Mitrovich, Executive Director Moore Stephens Gold Coast.  “This merger allows the combined offices to better cater for the varied needs of our clients.  We now have access to a larger pool of experts across a broader range of services with a wider geographic presence.  This spells only good news for everyone involved, clients and staff alike.”

Moore Stephens Queensland’s previous stable of services, which included audit and assurance, business accounting and advisory services, wealth management and insurance services has now been expanded to include new GST, tax consulting and legal services, which were specialist areas for Moore Stephens Gold Coast.
Moore Stephens Queensland Managing Director Ken Pickard explains, “This merger is an integral part of our firm’s growth strategy. It gives us the critical mass to drive accelerated growth of our audit and wealth management divisions in particular, as these will be new services to the Gold Coast’s clients. It `also brings significant additional small and medium enterprise expertise.

“This expansion of knowledge, experience and clients will result in enhanced opportunities for our clients and staff in this region and across Queensland.

“And, of course our access to the outstanding Moore Stephens network in Australia and around the world means we can further assist our clients in the region to grow and develop beyond regional Queensland.”

He added,
“Importantly, there is an excellent cultural fit between the Gold Coast office and the six offices we have in Moore Stephens Queensland. We share an absolute commitment to successful commercial outcomes for clients and providing the best possible opportunities for our people, and we look forward to welcoming the Gold Coast staff to Queensland team.”
