Moore Stephens launches global property funds management advisory group

Moore Stephens International Limited (MSIL) today launched a global property funds management advisory group. The MSIL Property Funds Management Group (PFMG) will provide a forum for Moore Stephens specialists around the globe to share knowledge, expertise and best practice relating to cross-border property transactions. For investors this will mean quick access to expert advice provided by accounting professionals in the property funds management market from around the world. The MSIL PFMG is chaired by Mr Stephen O’Flynn, a Partner in the Tax Practice of Moore Stephens in Melbourne. Mr O’Flynn said the MSIL PFMG will give Moore Stephens’ clients access to expert, integrated advice provided by accounting professionals in the property funds management market around the world. "Moore Stephens is one of the leading providers of accounting and taxation services to the global property sector around the world," Mr O’Flynn said. "The increasing globalization of the property market has meant that numerous Moore Stephens firms have developed significant expertise in cross-border transactions. The MSIL PFMG has been formed to leverage this expertise for the benefit of our clients, no matter where they choose to do business."

Mr O’Flynn also announced the launch of the inaugural magazine of the MSIL PFMG, Beyond Borders. Moore Stephens’ property funds management experts from around its international network will contribute articles to the magazine, which will be distributed to clients. "Beyond Borders will bring the latest thinking on trends in global property funds management to our clients’ desks," Mr O’Flynn said.

"One of the hot topics at the moment is structuring issues relating to minimising tax in local jurisdictions", Mr O’Flynn added. "And, it’s not just the large property fund managers that are heading overseas - the boutique property fund managers are actually leading the way into emerging markets such as South Africa, South America, Eastern Europe, India and Asia," Mr O’Flynn said.

The MSIL PFMG committee comprises members from Australia, The Netherlands, Argentina, Germany, Greece, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, The United Kingdom and The United States.
